Other Experiences

During my time at MTSU I have had the privilege of being able to work with multiple communities and educational programs. In 2022 I had the chance to meet and help develop an online exhibit for the non-profit Casa Marinella located in Austin, TX. In 2023 I was able to help educate children from ages 4-16 on a wide range of public history fields and I also had the chance to help educate the Nashville area about Travellers Rest Historic House Museum.

Educational Programming

During my internship at Travellers Rest, I helped design and teach children ages 4-16 historical practices relevant to the various summer camps held at the museum including, Jr. Docent, Archeology, and Tennessee History.

Online Exhibit/Story Map

Originally created as part of a class project to help community partner Casa Marinella, I helped design and create a story map of the paths refugees and asylees take to get into the United States. The exhibit will now be featured on Casa Marinella's website to help educate the public on the risks the asylees and refugees take to find help and freedom in the United States through Casa Marinella.

Community Outreach

As part of my internship at Travellers Rest and under the direction of my mentor I would engage with the nearby Nashville community to educate about Travellers Rest's mission, its summer camps, and the new vision for the museum as a whole.
